EPC's for solar

WHAT IS AN EPC?

An EPC is an Energy Performance Certificate that contains information on your homes energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. It includes a recommendation report that suggests ways to reduce energy and enhance your overall efficiency rating. Chiltern Solar Offer Free EPC’s for all their Solar Installations.

WHY DO I NEED AN EPC IF I AM INSTALLING SOLAR PV?

From the 1st April 2012 you will be required to have an energy assessment carried out on your house and produce an EPC if you are going to apply for the Governments Feed In Tariff. To qualify for the current highest tariff your property will need to be rated ‘D’ or above.
At Chiltern Solar we offer a FREE EPC service if you agree to have your install carried out by us. Our service will provide you with an EPC which will consider the impact of having a solar PV system installed together with recommended energy saving enhancements that would be required to ensure your property meets the minimum requirement of a D rating.

HOW LONG IS AN EPC VALID FOR?

An EPC is valid 10 years, which could be useful if you choose to move home in that time.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR AN EPC ?
